About
I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC, NV #CP5986) and Board Certified Dance/Movement Therapist (BC-DMT, #5183) in Las Vegas, NV. I received my M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Dance/Movement Therapy from Lesley University in Cambridge, MA. During my time at Lesley, I worked at an assisted living facility in the area leading dance/movement therapy (DMT) groups and individual therapy sessions with the residents there. I facilitate dance/movement therapy groups in settings such as behavioral healthcare hospitals, substance use rehabilitation programs, intensive outpatient programs, assisted living and memory care facilities, women’s retreats, and other community settings. I also offer individual counseling and dance/movement therapy sessions.
I hold a BFA in Modern Dance and a BS in Dance Education. My experiences as a dance educator and performer led me to realize the potential that movement has for improving mental health and healing. My interest in dance/movement therapy began in my undergraduate studies while researching the benefits of DMT for individuals with dementia. Years later, I felt drawn to pursue a career in mental health counseling and dance/movement therapy to help individuals with dementia find joy in their lives and feel seen and heard. I specialize in supporting anxiety across the lifespan, with a focus on women navigating anxiety and older adults and individuals living with dementia.
I am excited to offer more expressive therapy options to the Las Vegas area. I am passionate about using the mind-body connection to help individuals find healing within mental health counseling. Incorporating movement and body awareness into counseling treatment can help people find peace in their own bodies, experience a range of emotions, and find joy. In addition to utilizing movement, music, and art to explore challenging emotions, I work with clients to process things verbally during sessions. I believe in meeting clients where they are at and catering each session to the needs of the individual. I take a person-centered approach during sessions and incorporate empathy and validation into my work.
My Approach
Healing happens through both conversation and embodied experience.
I believe healing involves more than just talking about our experiences. It also includes listening to the wisdom of the body. While insight and understanding are important, lasting change often happens when we become more aware of how our thoughts, emotions, and experiences are expressed physically.
My approach integrates traditional psychotherapy with Dance/Movement Therapy, mindfulness, and somatic awareness to support the connection between mind and body. Together, we may explore thoughts and feelings through conversation, movement, creative expression, body awareness, or a combination of these approaches based on your needs and comfort level.
I strive to create a compassionate, collaborative, and nonjudgmental space where clients can explore challenges, build self-awareness, strengthen coping skills, and reconnect with their authentic selves.
No dance experience is ever required. Movement can be as simple as noticing your breath, observing body sensations, changing a posture, or exploring gentle movement as a way to better understand yourself and your experiences.
Through this holistic approach, my goal is to help clients cultivate greater self-understanding, resilience, and connection so they can move through life with increased confidence, authenticity, and well-being.
